Learn to Shoot, Rentals and the Range Store
You don't need your own shotgun or any experience to try the clay sports here. Learn to Shoot sessions include instruction and equipment, and the range store sells nearly everything else you need for a day on the line.
What's here
- Learn to Shoot sessions for trap, skeet, International trap and sporting clays.
- Rental shotguns for $20 a day.
- Electric and push cart rentals for the sporting clays course.
- The prepaid Clay Card for all clay sports.
- A store with ammunition, targets, rests, spotting scopes, and eye and ear protection.
- Restrooms, drinking water and wheelchair accommodations.
Good to know
Learn to Shoot sessions cost $25 and include instruction, the equipment rental and an abbreviated round. They need a reservation: call 561-822-6823. Age rules for young shooters aren't posted online, so call 561-512-0285 before bringing kids.
Learn to Shoot sessions
FWC runs Learn to Shoot sessions for American trap, skeet, International trap and sporting clays. Each one is $25 and covers instruction, the rental gun and gear, and an abbreviated round, so you leave knowing how the field works and whether you want to come back for full rounds. Reservations are required at 561-822-6823.
Rentals
Rental shotguns are $20 for the day and can be used on any clay field. On the sporting clays course you can also rent an electric cart for four ($25 a round) or a push cart ($5). For rifle and handgun shooters, the store sells basic and deluxe rifle rests and spotting scopes.
The range store
The concession store has restrooms and drinking water and sells eye and ear protection, which are required on every range, plus targets (adhesive and non-adhesive), limited rifle ammunition in common calibers like .223, .308 and .30-06, limited handgun ammunition, and convenience items. Supplies are limited, so if you shoot an uncommon caliber, bring your own.
The Clay Card
Every clay round is paid with the Clay Card, a prepaid card that costs $5 once and can be loaded with any amount. Loading $50 adds a 5% bonus and loading $100 adds 10%, so regulars save on every round.
Your first visit
Check the hours: the complex is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Bring eye and ear protection, or buy them at the store. Arrive with firearms unloaded and cased. Pay with cash or any major credit card. Wheelchair accommodations are available on every range; ask staff on arrival.
Hunter safety
FWC's hunter safety course is for students 12 and older and combines an online course with an in-person Field Day. Check FWC's hunter safety course listings for upcoming field days in Palm Beach County.
